Club Statement

Dunstable Town FC have sadly accepted the resignation of Head Coach Joe Deeney. Joe leaves the Club to take up a position in the professional game. In keeping with his professionalism and honesty, Joe had informed the Directors at a meeting earlier in the month that a position of great interest had become available. The news therefore is not a shock but one we would prefer not to have happened.

Joe arrived at the Club in September 2021, weeks after our restructure as a Community/Fan owned club, and embraced the challenges that a difficult start to the season had presented.

We finished that season in 9th position and bettered that the next season with a 4th place finish and a crowd of over 600 watching the win over Leighton Town in October 2022.

During Joe's tenure attendances have doubled, and the fan base has become significantly younger, and despite a challenging 23/24 season Joe has never hidden from the truth or from the supporters, and has continued to enjoy their passionate and unwavering support to the very last final whistle.

All of us at the Club wish Joe a very successful future and thank him for the special memories he’s left us with.
