Dunstable Town Women made the short trip to Hitchin Belles on Sunday and came away with their second successive 3-0 win in a week after defeating Biggleswade United the previous Sunday.
They got off to a quick start, going two up in 16 minutes.
Town took the lead in the 10th minute when Ellie Sargeant volleyed home a corner to score her first goal for the club.
Six minutes later they doubled their lead through Lexxie Burton. Shannon Cullen’s deep free kick deceived the hosts defence, as the ball bounced up on the edge of the area where Burton beat her opponent to the ball and scored with calm finish.

Amy Leach gave Town a comfortable lead going into the break, finishing off a fine team move of one and two touch passing as she joined team mate Sargeant in scoring her first goal for Dunstable.

The second half was about game management, keeping their opponents at bay while trying to add to the scoreline. They settled for a fine 3-0 win against a team who had pushed runaway leaders Histon all the way last week.
The team are looking to cement a top four finish, which would be a great achievement given the majority of the squad are teenagers, working alongside some very good experienced players.
The future is bright.
Team: Kopec-Knurek; Cook; Cullen; Darvill; Rees; Foster; Plumbridge; Burton; Sargeant; Molloy; Leach.
