Dunstable Town produced a determined performance against an experienced promotion chasing Haringey Borough side on Saturday and came away with another vital point.
Borough have only lost one league game at Coles Park all season so Town had to show a lot of character, which they did throughout.
The opening stages were pretty even with the hosts having the first opportunity on 14 minutes when a corner was swung into the front post was met by Jonathan Hippolyte who glanced his header just wide.
A minute later a Dunstable defender produced a fine last ditch tackle to prevent Borough taking the lead
Haringey had the ball in the net midway through the half but it was ruled out for an infringement.
Town took the lead in the 27th minute when Hadley Gleeson was taken down in the box. Luka Lodder stepped up and powerfully struck the ball home past Ashlee Jones.
Ten minutes later Haringey got back into the game when Hippolyte converted a cross to bring his team level.
In the 56th minute Michael O’Donoghue hit a shot towards goal for Borough from distance but it went well wide
Coree Wilson then cut inside for Haringey and hit it a shot that was saved well by Alfie Mumford.
On 77 minutes Bilal Sayoud cut inside for the hosts bending low shot towards goal which struck the post.
Dunstable almost won it in the 90th minute when a good ball from Mumford was flicked on Quelle Weekes to James Sales who went through on goal but his cut back was intercepted.
Team: Mumford; Butt; Kenna; Farrell; Wright; Gleeson; Rickman; Bomolo; Smith; Lodder; Wedd.
