Today (19.05.2023) Dunstable Town Football Club is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Bedfordshire based charity Tibbs Dementia Foundation.
The new partnership will see Dunstable Town FC extend it's free to attend community groups by working with Tibbs to hold specialist Walking Football sessions for those who are affected by Dementia and their carers in the Dunstable area.
Taster sessions will be held in Dunstable in the near future with a full timetable for the sessions to be released this Summer 2023.
Speaking about the new partnership Dunstable Town FC chairman Andrew Madaras said,
‘Dunstable Town FC is very pleased and very proud to be working together with Tibbs Dementia Foundation. Our restructure to be a Community Benefit Society and a social enterprise two years ago has enabled us to engage and work collaboratively with a number of partners in the health and social care sector. Whether they are statutory providers or charities, we share a common goal of wanting, as our community programme is called, to Improve the Lives of Others.
The opportunity to work together with Tibbs Dementia Foundation, now celebrating their 10th anniversary, is a huge privilege. Our aim is to recreate a similar model of Walking Football for people living with dementia as Tibbs provide every week in Bedford, and enable and facilitate carers and loved ones to find mutual peer support.’
Tibbs Dementia Foundation is a Bedford based charity helping people to Live Better with Dementia.
