Dunstable Town Walking Football attended July’s edition of the Hertfordshire Walking Football League looking to build on our first point last time out.Â
The first game started positively against table toppers and champions elect Ravens, producing some neat football and testing their goalkeeper.
Ravens quality showed however and ultimately Dunstable fell to a 4-0 defeat.Â
Game two saw us take on Barnet, both teams were very evenly match with nothing in the game in the opening stages. Barnet eventually took the lead however, Dunstable responded quickly through Tony May registering our first goal of the league.
Barnet went infront again but straight from the kick off the Blues scored the goal of the day neatly building up with some lovely one touch football between Dave and Tony with the move finished by Paul O’Hara..
Town had a chance from the spot to get a third but a fine save by the Barnet keeper meant it finished 2-2.Â
Game three was against Luton Town and we came out fast taking the lead through a fine finish from Dave Golding.
Luton came into the game and put us under pressure, drawing some saves from Ian. We still looked dangerous going forward however Luton’s pressure paid off with an equaliser.
Dunstable regrouped and almost took the lead again towards the end of the game but a brilliant save by the Luton goalkeeper meant it finished all square again.Â
