Following on from the superb win at FC Romania, Town travelled to Biggleswade United in a much more confident mood.

Luka Lodder gave the team an early lead with Mason Davis adding the second in the 50th minute to give the Blues their second successive 2-0 win on the road.

Another away game followed this time at Shefford Town & Campton. An Alex Butt goal saw Town take the lead but the hosts came back in the second half to lead 2-1. Luka drew us level then hit the bar with minutes remaining but it was a frustrating afternoon after a fine first half performance. Lewis Smith was dismissed late on for a second yellow card.

The next three games were difficult ones. Steve O’Reilly’s former club Harpenden Town came to Creasey Park and took all three points in a disappointing game for Dunstable. They never really got going after falling behind early on and struggled to recover. Joe Hankins scored a late consolation in the 3-1 defeat.

Our FA Vase journey started well against Tring Athletic where the Blues played excellently in the first half and were 2-0 up with a brace from Sam Ezenwaka. Sam nearly scored a hat-trick but agonisingly that third goal never came.

The second half was a total contrast to the first as Town capitulated and conceded five goals to exit the competition at the first hurdle.

The team’s confidence had taken a hit as they travelled to London Lions next and were 4-0 down before Luka scored a consolation penalty at the end of the game.

Things would pick up again though as the team entered October…
