Dear Supporters,
What a season it has been. We have finally reached the final game of a tough and grueling campaign. Knowing that we are officially safe and have maintained our Step 5 status is a significant weight off our shoulders.
Firstly, I would like to extend a warm welcome to Jordan and the Aylesbury Vale Dynamos team to Creasey Park.
Last Saturday’s draw against Crawley Green was not our best performance, and it left us waiting on the result of Tuesday night's match between Kempston Rovers and my former club, Harpenden Town FC. To say I had a few choice words for the players afterward would be an understatement.
While I didn't actually see players training with phones in hand to refresh social media for score updates, the eventual news of our safety brought immense joy and relief.
In truth, we were disappointed with our performance on Saturday; we shouldn't have had to rely on other results, but that is football.
Like many teams at this stage of the season, our squad is down to the bare bones. Several players are playing through injuries that would ordinarily see them sidelined, but we simply do not have that luxury right now.
Aylesbury Vale will be keen to end their season on a high note today. Like us, they have had an inconsistent season, so we must be fully prepared.
Today brings a mixture of emotions as it marks the last time we play under the Dunstable Town FC banner. The merger is gathering speed, and starting next season, we will move forward as one club.
I want to say a special thank you to everyone who has made me feel so welcome here. Thank you for the incredible support you have shown to me, Steve, the management team, and the players. We are fortunate to have such a great fanbase.
I hope you all enjoy the game, and please stay afterward for a few drinks.
Enjoy the match!
Micky
