This evening, we welcome Cockfosters FC to Creasey Park following their unbelievable cup run and achievement of reaching the FA Vase final. With games in hand still, they are still very hopeful of reaching the playoffs so tonight’s encounter has a fair bit on the line for both teams as look to maintain our status at step 5.
We have 3 games left in this league campaign—all are here at Creasey Park, we have put ourselves in a great position after the weekends 6 pointer against Kempston Rovers.
Not the best game of football on show and certainly not at the standards that we have set ourselves over the last 5 weeks but a win is all that mattered. Both teams looked nervous and the conditions caused all sorts of problems for both teams and both struggled to play any actual football.
The goal just before half time settled us and we managed to see out the game to claim a massive 3 pts and move us out of the relegation zone.
Nothing is done yet and we have to make sure we raise our standards tonight and the in the last two games We need the fans and crowd to get right behind us for this remaining
fixtures
As a management team, our belief in this group has never wavered. We knew it was going to be tough coming in but our belief was that we will make sure this club stays at step 5. Three cup finals to go so let’s get ready for the first one this evening.
We expect a tough match against tonight as we know Gavin and his team pretty well, so they will work hard and they have some excellent players at there club. So we need to make sure we compete and play in the right areas tonight.
I appreciate that this season has not been easy for the supporters. Your encouragement in these final games truly makes a difference, and we are committed to ensuring the team gives you a performance to be proud of.
Enjoy the game.
Best regards,
Micky
