Dunstable Town bounced back from the home defeat against Thetford Town with a battling performance in a game where both sides matched each other for long periods.
The opening half an hour produced little opportunities on either goal but Real Bedford did have a shot cleared off the line in the 27th minute.
Six minutes before half time Town took the lead when Hayley Smith's shot was fumbled by the hosts keeper with the ball going over the line to go 1-0 up.
The hosts responded well and had a shot into the side netting then a free kick crashed off the bar before hitting debutant Blues keeper Abbey Weedon then going to safety.
The home side drew level in the 55th minute when a free kick from the right was headed home.
Seven minutes later Dunstable regained the lead when Monet Grace-Wille lobbed the oncoming keeper to make it 2-1.
Rosie Perrin then headed over Emily Foster's free kick soon after.
The last ten minutes brought a few half chances for Town as Perrin shot narrowly wide with Foster heading Bailey Plumbridge's restart over the bar with a minute left.
Team: Weedon; Piggot; Manning; Cook; Darvill; Foster; Smith; Molloy; Rothwell; Grace-Wille; Perrin.
