Dunstable Town continued to create chances but the luck deserted them again on Saturday in this vital clash with Potton United.
The Blues played well for the most part, giving effort throughout on a difficult surface for both teams. Potton did extremely well to get the game on when many across the country were postponed.
Dunstable defended well with Jordan Wright returning to the side and new signing Luke Abraham adding more experience to the team which contributed to a clean sheet, something that has been much needed since their last one in August against Tring Athletic.
The hosts almost took the lead in the 7th minute. Wright seemed to be fouled when going up for a header on the edge of the box but nothing was given by the referee, this allowed Nikolay Rusev free space but his unpressured shot went high over the bar.
Town were playing some good football but Reece Crowter shot wide for Potton on 16 minutes then former Blues fans favourite Alex Desmond made a good save to deny Luka Lodder.
Mulik Rickman shot from range in the 26th minute but it was easily gathered by Desmond before Eddie Connolly shot wide for Potton.
With four minutes remaining of the first half Dunstable came close to scoring when Kyle Rahho headed a free kick a yard off target. Potton then fired a free kick over as the half drew to a close.

The visitors almost scored within two minutes of the second half when Lodder went through on goal but his shot was blocked then Desmond saved Lewis Smith's follow up effort.
On the hour mark Potton's captain Matt Gilbert was show a yellow card for dissent and subsequently sin-binned.
Dunstable tried to make the ten minutes with an extra man count with Lodder at the heart of it with a shot wide on 63 minutes. He then drove a shot across the six yard box which Plamedi Bomolo was unable to convert.
The game became cautious the longer it went on but both had shots on goal in the last five minutes, starting with a strike from Potton that went wide then another former Town player, Charlie Clark had a shot easily saved by Alfie Mumford.
Dunstable seemed to be denied a penalty in added time when Bomolo's goal bound shot looked like it hit an outstretched arm on the line but when things aren't going for you these decisions don't seem to go for you.
The game ended goalless with the Blues having the more shots on target.
