Dunstable Town conceded two goals in the opening fifteen minutes against a London Lions team renowned for being dangerous going forward and so it proved as the third top scorers in the league ran out 4-1 winners.

The Blues were without keeper Alex Desmond (family commitments), Jamie Ovington (suspended) and Joe Hankins. Will Bishop made his first competitive start alongside the returning Alfie Osborne while Lewis Smith returned from suspension.

Lions opened the scoring in the 5th minute when Max Kyte scored direct from free kick 25 yards out.

Kyte added his second on 13 minutes after good play by Max Davis and Mikey Perkins on the break set up Kyte to score from six yards.

Steve O’Reilly made several changes in the second half to try and get back in the game but Kyte completed his hat-trick from the spot, sending Caleb Chandler the wrong way.

Town’s afternoon was made even harder with four minutes left. A pass from Tyler Smith to Joe Bellman who cut the ball back for Oscar Wagner to tap home.

Luka Lodder converted a penalty for Town before the end but the Blues will have to get back to keeping things tight at the back after twelve goals conceded in three games.

It’s been a hard couple of weeks but hopefully this new team will get back on track in the coming games in a season of learning and transition so far.

Team: Chandler; Kenna; Williams; Smith; Bishop; Osborne; Mead; Butt; Ezenwaka; Goulding; Lodder.

Subs: Akinbobola; Briggs; Greene; Davis; Lauder.
