Dunstable Town Women showed great character to come back from 2-0 down by scoring two late goals to take a point against the team they defeated a week before.

Goals from Shannon Cullen and Sanam Shahid gave Town a share of the spoils in another highly competitive game between the two sides.

Real Bedford controlled the opening period of the game with Dunstable keeper AJ Hebborn tipping the ball over the bar with a full stretch save with just eight minutes gone.

Hebborn was called into action again in the 15th minute when she saved point-blank from a close range header.

Six minutes later a cross-shot from the visitors hit the post as the pressure built on the Blues’ goal.

Town found their feet with half an hour gone when Megan Molloy struck a powerful effort at goal but it was saved.

Shahid went through on goal ten minutes before half time but her shot was pushed away for a corner.

Soon after Monet Grace-Wille nearly capitalised on a mistake but the keeper recovered well to make a save. Shahid then fired in a shot that was also saved.

In the 43rd minute good defensive work by Gemma Darvill and Hebborn led to them blocking a shot before Darvill headed off the line in the same attack.

Six minutes after half time Real Bedford opened the scoring after Hebborn made another fine save by palming the ball on to the bar but the follow up was scored from close range.

Just before the hour mark Grace-Wille shot wide then hit a free kick narrowly over the crossbar.

The visitors doubled their lead on 78 minutes as they looked to have claimed all three points but Dunstable showed determination and character to hit back.

Shannon Cullen headed home Grace-Wille’s free kick with eight minutes left to pull one goal back then Bailey Plumbridge had a shot saved as the Blues went in search of a second goal.
