This match had already been postponed on four previous occasions, with the venue switched away from Creasey Park to Ampthill and then back again, in an effort to get the game played during the inhospitable winter weather.
The 40 or so supporters who were in attendance were treated to an imposing and dominating performance from Ayab Nabongo’s side who were convincing 13 -1 winners on the night.
There were five goals each for strike partners, Caleb Capone and Ashley Harris. Capone completing his hat trick inside 30 minutes of the first half, and Harris scoring his final three goals in just seven second half minutes. Nathaniel Coote, Jayden Miller and Kosang Sherabayani also getting on the scoresheet.
The victory means that the young guns take on top of the table Leighton Town in the next round of the Beds FA Floodlit Challenge Cup on Thursday 9th February at Creasey Park. The Blues currently sit 6th in the table of 11 clubs. They’re only one of two teams to have beaten Leighton Town this season, inflicting a 4 -3 win on the leaders back in September.
The win continues the side’s recent rich vein of form, which has seen them claim the scalps of both Luton Town Cedars and Colney Heath, who beat them on their own turf earlier in the season.
