The scoreline was a frustrating one for Dunstable Town on Saturday.

The Blues created chances to score six themselves but the final touch frustratingly evaded them while at the other end Sawbridgeworth capitalised on a difficult game defensively for the hosts.

Missing the experience of Jordan Wright and Ben Farrell plus the suspended Michael Donkor and others through injury/availability it was a tough afternoon.

The visitors took the lead on 10 minutes when a ball over the top found Huseyin Yildiz to score from just inside the box.

Seven minutes later Elijah Grant headed wide for Sawbridgeworth.

Two late tackles from each team saw Callum Leggatt and Adam Wedd booked with 25 minutes played.

Three minutes later Luka Lodder had a great chance to equalise but his shot was saved by Jimmy Parker.

Soon after Lewis Smith shot at goal, which seemed to be going wide until Mulik Rickman was agonisingly unable to divert it goalwards from close range.

The game was end to end as Alex Butt did well to block Michael Toner’a shot before Sawbridgeworth were awarded a penalty, which was converted by Grant in the 34th minute.

Dunstable came so close again when Kyle Rahho headed a free kick towards the back post which was met by Lodder who shot inches wide.

On 41 minutes James Sales’ fine cross was diverted over the bar before the Blues were denied a goal for a foul on Parker.

Right on half time Sawbridgeworth hit Dunstable with a carbon copy of the first goal to make it 3-0 when Sam Ince slotted home.

Within a minute of the restart for the second half Lodder shot over the bar from close range then Ince missed a virtually open goal at the other end.

In the 57th minute Plamedi Bomolo went through on goal but took a heavy touch and Parker was able to collect with ease.

Four minutes later Rahho headed a corner just wide before Ince scored a fourth goal for the visitors.

New signing Mal Bowyer then headed wide of the target for Dunstable before they had a header cleared off the line.

With 73 minutes gone Ince completed a hat-trick. Minutes after Quelle Weekes was shown a yellow card which proved to be the first of two bookings.

Alfie Mumford then produced a fine save to deny Sawbridgeworth then Rickman’s shot took a deflection for a corner which was cleared with ten minutes remaining.

In the 85th minute Weekes was shown a second yellow for charging down Parker’s kick from his hands.

To rub salt into the wounds Ince added his fourth goal a minute later.
