Dunstable Town FC are proud to announce a partnership with Be Active, Houstone School in Houghton Regis and Dunstable Schools SGO. The Club will be providing a number of specialist football groups for local schools’ Year Six pupils and Houstone’s own Year 7 students.
The hour-long sessions will run every week until July 18th and then recommence in September when the new School year starts.
The sessions are the result of Head of the Club’s Walking Football groups, Ian Bateman, wanting to take Walking Football into schools for parents and children to enjoy together.
Despite the inclement weather nearly 30 students attended the sessions ran by Matt Collins & Ian Bateman.
The programme comes under the Club’s mental health and physical wellbeing programme, Improving the Lives of Others, which provides support groups throughout the week for up to 140 people with lived experience of mental health problems and in recovery, dementia, loneliness and social isolation as well as offering four different Walking Football groups.
