Dunstable Town FC are pleased to announce that season ticket sales for the new season have beaten last year’s record number. Earlier this week Adrian Villa became the 50th supporter to buy a season ticket. That number has risen now to almost 60 with Club volunteers dealing with enquiries on a daily basis.
Adrian is 26 and lives in California. He coaches High School football & has embraced the concept of community ownership with additional co-ownerships at Southend & Caledonian Braves FC.
He has donated his season ticket to a member of one of our community support groups. Proving that you don’t need to be local to co-own your own football club, Adrian became the Club’s seventeenth Platinum Owner.
The groundswell of support for Steve O’Reilly, his coaching team and the new players making up the Class of 24, is evidenced not just by the rise in season ticket sales, but also the attendance of 301 on the opening day of the season and the large away support that travelled to Winslow on Tuesday evening. Individual Club ownerships have also risen by over 25% compared to this stage last season.
Ownership helps us provide peer support for people with lived experience of mental health problems and who are in recovery, people who may be lonely and socially isolated and help support a whole number of different groups and Walking Football sessions, as well as being a vital part of the Club’s income stream.
A proportion of each of our Owner’s annual subscription is allocated to funding our physical health and mental wellbeing initiative, Improving the Lives of Others (ITLO) ITLO runs twelve support groups every week which directly support over 140 people, and indirectly many more.
The programme the Club has run successfully now enters its fourth year and was a strong contributory factor in the Non-League Paper’s decision to make the Club their Community Club of the Year 2024.
