You can never keep a good man down as they say! This is very true in the case of Jonathan Barnett, who has just signed for the club. This will be Jonathan’s fourth spell with The Blues, where he has made 181 appearances in his previous three stints with the club. During his career, Jonathan has played for Stevenage Borough, Hitchin Town, Arlesey Town, Aylesbury, Kettering Town and AFC Dunstable.
Many Dunstable Town fans will remember Jonathan for his whole-hearted approach and he will be a welcome addition to our young and exciting squad, who will benefit both on and off the pitch from his experience and football know-how.
In his previous spells, Jonathan played in a number of high profile matches including the FA Vase quarter-final away at Whitley Bay; Brico semi-final against Grays Athletic, where he was up against Freddie Eastwood, who went on to play for Southend United; and the FA Cup home encounter against AFC Wimbledon. He was also part of the Invincible's squad, playing for the team in the first part of that glorious season.
Jonathan was given his nickname “Lucky Jonno” by the regular supporters, for his propensity to score spectacular goals from all over the pitch when matches were being filmed. We certainly hope this tradition continues.
Jonathan said “When I was completing the paperwork, I was getting excited at the opportunity of being part of this new era at the club. I am looking forward to working with Tony and the squad and helping to take the club forward”.
