PROMISING DRAW AGAINST CRAWLEY FIRSTS

August 1, 2017

Crawley Green 3-3 Dunstable Town Development Squad

A tough fixture against South Midlands Premier league opposition proved to be an entertaining match.

Crawley Green took the lead from a corner after 15 mins but it was short lived as Lee Mooney finished off a flowing move two minutes later. The young blues then took the lead when Mooney grabbed his second after lobbing the keeper, following a more direct ball straight from Stephen Wake, who was having to play in goal due to an absence of keepers!

The second half started fairly evenly, but it was our hosts who then began to assert some pressure which resulted in the equaliser, again from a dangerous corner and within a couple of minutes they had taken the lead with a neat finish past Wake.

However, the lads showed great character and fought their way back into the match and got their reward when Erin Amu beat a couple of defenders before shooting from outside the box into the corner of the net for the equaliser.

Ignoring the couple of minutes right on half time, the game was played in good spirit and we wish Crawley Green good luck in their FA Cup on Saturday and best wishes for the season.
