HAPLESS IN HUNTINGDONSHIRE
St Ives Town avenged their 4-1 mauling at Creasey Park earlier in the season with a comprehensive 3-1 win at Westwood Road. A lively opening saw equal chances but it was the hosts who opened the scoring with a well – taken goal after just ten minutes. Danny Kelly converted a cross from the left with a hooked shot.
Dunstable leveled with a piece of smart play five minutes later when Alex Cathline headed home a Talbot cross. But three minutes from half-time Josh Dawkin restored the home club’s’ lead following a corner.
Outfoxed tactically, Dunstable struggled to get on terms and they conceded a third goal after fifty-four minutes, following a neat cross from the left. Maximum substitutions did not aid the cause and despite numerous efforts the visitors were thwarted and suffered their first ever loss at Westwood Road.
