Well it’s been a long time coming but at long last the 2016 – 17 season is finally upon us and following a hectic pre-season friendly regime we are sure that Yella and Talbs have got the squad that they want for the season and we feel that this season is all about rebuilding.
Having managed to represent the supporters club at as many of the pre-season friendlies as we could we have seen the squad whittled down to what looks an exciting young squad with a lots of new faces and a few “old” faces.
As you are no doubt aware some old friends and favourites have moved on to pastures new but there is a number of last years squad who have re-signed and that is great for the club as these experienced players will be there to help and support the new talent.
We have last a few members of staff, Johnny Bell has gone to Bedford Town to work with their new manager Darren Croft and Pete Mills has stepped down as commercial manager, but hopefully will still come and support the blues, so on behalf of the supporters club we would like to thank Pete for all his hard work over the last couple of years and he will be missed within the committee, if you change your mind Pete……you know the rest.
Our next Saturday match is away to Merthyr on 13.08.16 and we are hoping that a coach will be arranged, so if you are interested in joining us in what is always a great day out please let me , Aaron or Chris know as soon as possible.
We are accepting applications for the Supporters club whether it is re applying or new members, the cost is £10.00 for the season and you will get £2.00 off admission for home league games. If you are entitled to concession under the OAP banner you can join the supporters club as an honorary member at no cost but you will not receive any further concession at the turnstile. Please see either myself [Ian], Aaron or Chris at the turnstile if you are interested in joining. You will receive a discount for the on line shop and reduced coach fare when the coach is available to away games.
Well hopefully kick off is getting near so lets make some noise for the boys and start the season as we mean to go on……
C’mon you blues……………..To the regiment I wish I was there
