MATCH PREVIEW: DUNSTABLE TOWN v CHESHAM UNITED

April 21, 2016

Dunstable Town could finish in the top ten if they win their last two games of the season, with Tony Fontenelle hopeful that his side can deliver.

The Blues take on Chesham United at Creasey Park tonight, a side who beat them convincingly in the reverse fixture 5-1.

The Generals have only won three games away in the league this season, but Fontenelle is expecting a difficult match.

He said: “They’re a very good side, any team that makes it to the second round of the FA Cup are going to be very good.

“I think that FA Cup run hampered their league form, but I am expecting a tough game, it doesn’t matter if they played on Tuesday against Merthyr.”

With Dunstable’s last two games at home, Chesham tonight, and then Bedworth on Saturday, the Creasey Park outfit could finish in the top ten providing they win both of their remaining fixtures.

Form doesn’t favour the home side however, with only one win from their last ten league games.

Fontenelle said: “It is down to the lads now, if we win our last two games it assures us of a top ten finish and that’s what I am hoping to achieve.

“Myself and Danny Talbot would be very pleased [with a top ten finish], I just think that would be a fairer reflection of the work that we have put in this year.”

Dunstable Town play Chesham United tonight at Creasey Park, with the match kicking off at 7:45pm.

After the game on Saturday against Bedworth, Dunstable Town shall be hosting the Players Awards Evening, and we would like to invite all Blues fans to the event.
