First of all I am delighted to be named as the club captain for Dunstable Town FC.
However I would like to thank the departing Paul Bastock for everything he has done for not only the team but for me personally.
This season we have had a relatively young back four and Bazza has helped us all progressive massively, I believe that shows in recent results with us claiming 3 clean sheets in 4 games.
The season so far as a whole has been somewhat of a rollercoaster but as we speak we currently sit in 4th and I'm not sure anybody associated to the club would have thought we could be in a play-off position after the start that we had.
There has been a lot of players come and go over the course of the season but I strongly believe that we now have the strongest squad so far and a squad capable of making the play-offs come the end of the season.
Last Saturday a strong Hungerford side came to Creasey Park in what was an extremely close game just like the Hitchin game previously.
However unlike the Hitchin game going into the second half we did have the wind with us and I knew that with the substitutes we had on the day we would cause them problems later in the game.
Thankfully Keeno scored in the last minute of added on time and I really do believe this shows how far Dunstable has come as a club and a team as we never stopped believing we would get all three points.
Hungerford are one of the top sides in the league and I feel that they will cause many teams in the Southern Premier problems due to the pace of their front line.
Unfortunately due to Leamington still yet to play there FA Trophy game there is no game Saturday, however we move to Tuesday against a Stratford side that have multiple games in hand and will be looking themselves to push into a play-off spot in coming weeks.
Lastly I would like to personally welcome Jamie Head who is going to replace Bazza in goal, I have spoken to Yella and I understand he is a top quality keeper and I have been impressed from what I have seen in training this week.
