MATCH REPORT: DUNSTABLE TOWN V CRAWLEY GREEN

DUNSTABLE STUMBLE THROUGH ON PENALTIES

Spartan Premier side Crawley Green took a surprise thirteenth minute lead against their hosts when Sam Halfpenny fired in a right footed shot. Dunstable levelled after Vences bola’s shot was parried by Dean Bull and Shane Bush tucked in the rebound some ten minutes later.

That was it for goals in the actual match and a penalty competition ensued with Dunstable emerging victorious 4-2.

The game was again expensive for Dunstable in terms of injuries with Alex Cathline hobbling off in the first half with a pulled hamstring and in the last minute of the half Shane Bush sustained a head injury.

Of interest to long term Dunstable supporters was the appearance of Ashton Grant, Rob Newman who both started for Crawley Green, with Terry Billy, aka Jay Jay coming on as a late substitute.

The Spartan team pushed Dunstable all the way and came close to winning the game in the closing minutes.
