SUPPORTER'S CLUB NOTES AHEAD OF MERTHYR TOWN
We are looking forward to the return match from earlier in the season at their place where we feel we were involved in one of the best games so far this season.
The result unfortunately went against us with Merthyr securing the win with 2 heart-breaking late goals to run out 4-3 winners. At time of press Merthyr are sitting 5th and the Blues 7th with a 6 point gap.
We are convinced that Merthyr are destined to be pushing for promotion and if a not a play off place at the very least. Last Saturday saw us fall at the 2nd qualifying stage of the FA Trophy when we were well and truly beaten by Weymouth, who’s current league position does not really do them justice, although our cause was not helped with some decisions by the officials. Weymouth have been drawn away to Poole on the next round, best of luck with that.
On Tuesday we traveled to St Ives, which ended in a disappointing 3 – 1 defeat with Alex netting for us in the 1st half. Please don’t forget that you can still join the supporters club, £10 will get you concession to all home league games and discount at the on line club shop.
There will be the current away shirt available at the on line club shop soon along with some new winter wear, so please pay a visit at www.prestigedesignww.co.uk/live/Football/DTFC-Supporters-Club
Please come a see as at the new supporters club shed just by the turnstile which has been kindly donated to the supporters club by the Dunstable branch of B & M, so a massive thank you to them. We have lots of old programs available to buy at £1.00 each and we will soon have merchandise available, car kits, mouse mats, hats and scarves.
The 2nd DTFC supporters club last man standing competition is still going thanks to some bizarre results 2 weeks ago which saw all participants that remained either lose or draw so no one won therefore those who remained live to fight another day. Due to the international break last week we did a one off UFC fighting thingy last man standing were Alex scooped the prize despite not really knowing who he was selecting but well done Alex, a worthy winner.
Please don’t forget the race night tonight, Saturday 19th following today's game against Merthyr Town at the HQ Bar.
