MATCH PREVIEW: DUNSTABLE TOWN v KINGS LYNN TOWN
Ahead of our match against Kings Lynn town this Saturday, manager Tony Fontenelle was happy to see his side still in the play-off places after a two week break.
Postponed games against Redditch United and Frome Town has meant the Blues have watched helplessly as teams have climbed up the table.
But even with that in mind, Dunstable still sit in fourth place, with only a four point gap between themselves and this weekend’s opponents, 8th placed Kings Lynn Town.
Fontenelle said: “They’re a very strong side, we seem to be playing teams in and around us at the moment and it’s the same again on Saturday.”
With no fresh injury concerns, the Blues’ boss thinks the break has been ideal.
He said: “I think it has done the lads good to have a break, but they are under no illusion, they have to enjoy this break whilst they can as we have a lot games to play.”
A home win could put Dunstable within two points of top spot, but a loss could see them slide out of the play-offs, with Fontenelle aware of the precarious position his side sit in.
“Three points would be massive to be honest, we have got a lot of teams in and around us playing each other, so obviously teams are going to drop points, so it is important that we get that gap between us and the chasing pack.”
Fontenelle was also happy to announce the addition of defender David Longe-King, who has arrived on loan from St Albans City.
“He is looking sharp and he adds a different dimension to the squad and hopefully he will settle in with the lads nicely.
“We have got a lot of games in a short space of time, so you need that squad depth, people are going to pick up niggles, maybe dips in form, so it is always nice to have that back-up and also it’s healthy to have that competition for places.”
Come down to Creasey Park this Saturday to watch Dunstable Town take on Kings Lynn Town, with the match kicking off at 3:00pm.
