As part of the club’s ongoing engagement with the local community, we have worked with our Community School of the Season, Totternhoe Lower School and Dunstable Library to create a unique football and history project workshop. Carly Levingstone, Area Manager South Leisure, Libraries and Countryside for Central Bedfordshire Council alongside Pam Stibbings, one of the librarians at Dunstable Library have created a half-day workshop which was piloted with the Totternhoe pupils. The workshop is multi-faceted and engages pupils in researching the football and social history of Dunstable. It’s been a long time coming and now it’s finally here- It’s the Local David and Goliath Derby and the Blues are confident of a win. In the 2007/8 season Dunstable town took on the mighty local Luton Town in the original home Derby and the Blues came out as champions of the Bedfordshire Premier Cup. In 2012/3 the two local giants came head to head again and Dunstable walked away victorious in the Beds Premier Cup with a 1-0 win. Fast forward 4 years and Luton Town are now in league two in a secure 5th position and the time has come for them to face the mighty blues again… and we bet they are quaking in their football boots!
